NEW BUILDING FOR BETHEL BRANCH LIBRARY

Dedication Ceremony Planned

The Bethel Branch of the Clermont County Public Library is excited to announce plans for a new building. The current branch is too small to support the needs of a thriving community. Leslie Massey, CCPL Director, says, "The Bethel Branch has grown in collection size and library users. With the enthusiastic support of the community, the branch has become to small to accomplish our goals. In order to provide more services, we needed a larger space."

Construction is underway for the modern facility that will be located at 611 West Plane Street. The site was chosen because of its close proximity to schools, homes, and the center of town locality. It is important that the branch be in walking distance for many of its users.

The new facility will offer many firsts for the Clermont County Public Library. There will a drive-up window for people in a hurry. The building boasts energy efficient utilities, enhanced children's and teen areas, and a marquee sign to announce upcoming events. There will also be a large area outside for programs and a great multifunctional room. Massey says, "The community will benefit from our new building. The location offers easier access and has a large parking lot. The larger space will allow us to expand our services and programs."

On Sunday, October 24th from 3-5 p.m., join the Library for dedication ceremony held at the construction site, 611 West Plane Street. The public is invited to view architectural sketches, learn more about the project, and enjoy refreshments. Attendees will receive special souvenirs to commemorate the event. Children will have fun playing with keepsake "building blocks."

Endeavor Inc, Trebor Electric Inc, RPC Mechanical Inc, and Langdon Inc are the contractors. This highly anticipated project is expected to be completed by June 2005.
