The Clermont County Public Library challenged youth across the county to work together to read one million pages this summer. Thousands of pages were read each week skyrocketing the total to great heights! As of today, August 3, a total of 1,311,867 pages have been read. That number is expected to rise before the challenge ends this Saturday.
The Clermont County Public Library will host the Summer Finale Carnival to reward the youth for their teamwork. Tracey Woodward, Youth Services Lead, says, “It’s very exciting that the children reached the million page goal two weeks before the deadline. It shows their eagerness to read and learn. It will be fun to recognize those who participated in the ‘You’re One in a Million Reading Challenge’ with the carnival.”
The carnival is Saturday, August 7 from 1-4 p.m. at the new Union Township Civic Center, 4450 Aicholtz Road. Zak Morgan will delight the audience with music, magic, and comedy as he encourages children to read and use their imaginations. Morgan takes the stage at 1:30 p.m.
The University of Cincinnati Dance Team will “break it down” hip-hop style at 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. All entertainment will be on the amphitheatre stage.
Participants and their families will enjoy live entertainment, games, food, and face painting at the carnival. There will also be magicians and a balloon artist.
