The Clermont County Public Library supports the United States troops by participating in the “Yellow Ribbon” postcard project. The entire community awaits the safe return of Spc. Matt Maupin and all the US Armed Forces serving overseas. Despite overwhelming support, many soldiers do not receive any mail. The Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau developed a project for residents to send inspirational postcards to these men and women. The “Yellow Ribbons of Clermont County, Ohio” postcards were designed using photographs of yellow ribbons placed throughout the county.
The Clermont County Public Library is partnering with the Convention and Visitors Bureau for the postcard writing campaign. Stop by any of the library’s ten branches to pick up a free postcard. Send the postcard directly to a loved one serving in the Middle East. If you don’t personally know a soldier, you can still participate. The military has assisted in coordinating the project and will deliver your postcard to a deserving soldier. Write a positive message for the soldier, children may draw artwork. Drop off your postcard at any branch library by July 30th to ensure delivery.
