Summer 2004 is "Animezing" at the Clermont County Public Library. Animezing, a new program for teens, explores the exciting world of anime. The program runs June 14 through August 7.
Animezing is a unique summer reading program. It has been specifically designed to encourage teens to read, think creatively and explore new mediums. Teens can enter prize drawings by reading graphic novels, surfing the Internet, writing a poem or listening to a favorite CD. Drawings will be held weekly at all ten branch libraries.
Teen artists can post their own anime artwork in the online gallery. Original artwork will be accepted from June 14-August 7. Two artists will be randomly selected to win $25 gift certificates to Amazon.com. The gallery is open to anyone aged 12-18. Visit http://www.clermont.lib.oh.us/animezing.html for more information, rules, and guidelines.
Several branches of the Clermont County Public Library are forming anime clubs. Teens can view brand new anime with friends, review the films, and help the library select what titles to purchase. Send an e-mail to clermon3@oplin.org for more details.
