Special Needs Services
We are committed to providing full access to our Library facilities and materials to every person in Clermont County, regardless of their cognitive or physical abilities.
Clermont County Public Library is able to make these services available in part through a generous grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library services, awarded by the State Library of Ohio.
Adaptive Technology
Our adaptive technology for people with disabilities includes a fully accessible workstation at each of our ten branches. Each station includes:
- Large print keyboard
- OrbiTouch keyless keyboard
- ZoomText, a screen magnifier software
- Jaws for Windows, a speech synthesizing software
- Adjustable computer table and chair
Building and Program Services:
- Accessible handicapped parking
- Accessible entrances and restrooms
- Braille signage
- Two trained American Sign Language interpreters
- Boardmaker signage
Library Materials
- Descriptive and close-captioned movies
- Audio books on compact disc
- PlayAways digital audio books
- Large print books
Library @ Your Door
We are committed to provide access to library materials for every person in Clermont County regardless of their ability to travel to the library.
The Clermont County Public Library is able to make this service available due to a generous grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services, awarded by the State Library of Ohio.
- For Clermont County residents who are unable to travel to the library due to a temporary or permanent disability.
- You do not need a Clermont County Public Library card to receive this service.
- Register for service by calling 732-2736 or email eckertla@oplin.org and a staff member will call you.
- Someone from your closest branch will then contact you to ask about your reading preferences.
- The delivery service will visit you once a month.
- You may check out up to 10 items, 3 of which can be movies if you like.
- There is no charge for this service.

- Through a national network of cooperating libraries, the National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) administers a free library program of Braille and audio materials circulated to eligible borrowers in the United States by postage-free mail. The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped provides this service to eligible borrowers in Clermont County
