Audiobook Lovers Rejoice!

logo_novelistDo you love audiobooks?  Well, finding the perfect audiobook to listen to just became a whole lot easier with the addition of listeners’ advisory features to Novelist!  Novelist is a database offered through the library which provides reviews, appeal information and readalikes for tens of thousands of fiction and nonfiction books for all ages, and now that content has expanded to include audiobooks.

So, what does this mean for you?  With NoveList you can:

Search for Listenalikes

Look up an audiobook in NoveList and find listenalikes – titles that are similar to those that you already know you enjoy.  These suggestions come direct from NoveList’s librarian staff and pair audiobooks based on appeal elements and subject matter.Novelist1Preview and Review Audiobooks
Preview audio samples to be sure you’ll enjoy the style of narration.  Read both professional reviews from sources like Audiofile and reader reviews from Goodreads to see what other listeners thought.Novelist2Find the Right Sound
Love listening to a full cast of characters?  Or do you prefer a single, strong voice?  Maybe you like books read by the author?  NoveList has added narrative appeal descriptors to each audiobook record, allowing you to search for narration styles such as comedic, immersive, musically enhanced or wry.

NoveList will tell you what formats an audiobook has been produced in: CD, eAudiobook, MP3CD or Playaway.  You can also check the book’s run time and search for audiobooks by duration.
