The Library offers several resources for those who want to explore the history of Clermont County and its residents.

Clermont County Genealogical Society Collection

Our Batavia Branch is home to the Clermont County Genealogical Society Collection which includes:

  • vital records
    • births (1956-1857 and 1867-1908)
    • deaths (1856-1908)
    • marriages (1800-1910)
    • wills, estates and guardianships (1800-1900)
  • church and cemetery records
    • Monument Inscriptions Prior to 1900 from Cemeteries in Clermont county, Ohio
  • newspapers
    • Western American (1814-1816)
    • The Clermont Courier (1836-1989)
    • The Clermont Sun (1852- present)
    • The Bethel Journal (1902-1988)

The collection is available during regular library hours. You can also ask library staff a genealogical question with this form.

The Clermont County Genealogical Society meets at the library and then hosts an educational program on a variety of genealogy topics on the first Saturday of most months at the Batavia Branch. Check our online calendar for details.
