Why did you volunteer to join the Library's Board?

Reading is a very important skill. As a youth, I did not read well. I was very nearsighted and not diagnosed until I was in fifth or sixth grade. I was tutored in reading in grade school and took a course at the University of Cincinnati in speed reading and comprehension before starting my freshman year.

I wanted to continue my community service. I feel the library provides a unique service through its 10 branches. The seven members of the Clermont County Public Library Board of Trustees set policy and manage the finances of the library system.

I also serve on the Clermont County steering committee for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Clermont County Public Library and Greater Cincinnati United Way partner to manage the Clermont County Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library provides books monthly to children from birth to the age of five at no cost to the family.
