Professional background/work experience:

My professional background entails sustainable employment in the public sector for nearly five decades, the majority of which was in county government. I was a full-time employee with the Clermont County Board of Commissioners from March 1979 to June 2024. I served in the position of Clerk of the Board from April 1979 to June, 2021 and retired following an automobile accident. I was afforded the opportunity to return as a part-time employee with the Clermont County Board of Commissioners in August of 2021 for an additional one-year period. The position of Clerk of the Board was in the unclassified service, and the incumbent served in that position, “at the pleasure of the Board of County Commissioners.” The duties and responsibilities were many and expanded throughout the years, predominantly attesting to official actions of the Board of Commissioners.

Why did you volunteer to join the Library's Board?

Throughout the years, I have been afforded the opportunity to participate in, promote, and support many educational, philanthropic, and political endeavors such as: service as a poll worker for the local Board of Elections on Election Day; serving as a Room Mother, tutor, and officer in the local public school district’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA); serving as a Girl Scout leader; and coordinating fundraising events for the March of Dimes, to name a few.

I have always been an avid reader and remember fondly my first participation in the Summer Reading Program sponsored by my local public library system. When a vacancy occurred on the Clermont County Public Library Board of Trustees, I sought the appointment to serve with like-minded county residents to explore and support the many opportunities available through this public entity for all its users.
