August is National Get Ready for Kindergarten Month, a time for littles and their parents to prepare for the big transition into school. Whether your child is heading to kindergarten this year or you just brought the little bundle of joy home from the hospital, it's never a bad time to check out this handy Get Ready for Kindergarten Guide full of free resources at the Clermont County Public Library that we've put together to help.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Country music superstar Dolly Parton launched her Imagination Library in 1995. It is a program that distributes free books to children from birth to age 5 in participating communities (like Clermont County)! Every month, a carefully selected new book will be mailed directly to your child. This is a FREE GIFT to your child through our partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Clermont County, Ohio. There is no cost or obligation to your family.
Thanks, Dolly!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
A reading challenge made specially for the littles! It works just like our other reading challenges: sign up, track your child's reading, earn prizes! And remember, every book counts (yes, the third time reading Where's Spot? today counts as three books read!)

School Readiness Kits
School Readiness Kits are designed to help children develop skills to prepare them to attend kindergarten. Kits are available in 14 different topics. Each kit contains: five books, an educational toy, and a laminated insert that describes the skill used in the kit and suggests several ways to use the toy.
Sprout Backpacks
Sprout Backpacks are created around a single subject and assist in school readiness for children ages 1-3 or 3-8. The Sprout Backpacks cover themes such as colors, numbers, emotions, and sharing.
STEAM Kits
STEAM Kits are designed to assist children with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education. Each STEAM kit comes with an instrument, toy, or game to further interest and promote hands-on exploration.
PBS KIDS BingePass
As the number one educational media brand for kids, PBS KIDS helps children ages 2-8 learn lessons that last a lifetime. For a single borrow, get seven days of unlimited access to community-based programs that give children the chance to see themselves uniquely reflected and celebrated in lovable, diverse characters. Millennial parents rejoice: it includes old episodes of Arthur and Zoboomafoo!
