Every May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the nation's observance of Older Americans Month — a time to honor the contributions of older adults, recognize the realities of aging, and recommit to serving seniors in our communities.
At the Clermont County Public Library, we believe that meaningful relationships and social connections are essential to well-being at every stage of life. That's why we offer a growing collection of programs and resources designed with older adults in mind.
What Programs & Resources Does the Library Offer for Older Adults?
GetSetUp: Explore our newest resource, one specifically created with older adults in mind. GetSetUp offers thousands of classes, live and on-demand, covering everything from health and wellness to technology skills — all from the comfort of your own home.
Memory Kits: Available at all branches, our Memory Kits provide families with a valuable resource to foster connection with loved ones experiencing memory loss. These kits contain a variety of prompts and activities designed to spark conversation and positive recollection. Shared memories can strengthen bonds and create cherished moments for all involved.
Senior Cafes: Join us for Senior Cafes at many library branches. These gatherings provide a welcoming space for seniors to socialize, share stories, and participate in fun activities facilitated by library staff. Enjoy refreshments and games while building connections with friends old and new. Visit our Events Calendar for upcoming Senior Cafe dates and locations.
Volunteer Opportunities: The Library thrives thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, many of whom are valued members of our senior community. Volunteering offers a rewarding way to share your skills and knowledge, connect with others, and contribute to your local library. If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out our Volunteer form.
Veterans History Project: Since Veterans Day 2005, the Clermont County Public Library has proudly participated in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, documenting the invaluable experiences of local veterans. Learn more about the Library's interview process for the Veterans History Project.
Book-a-Librarian: If you need basic technology help, explanations about how to use the Library App, Libby, hoopla Digital, or Freading, you can sign up for a Book-a-Librarian session and receive one-on-one help from a Library staff member. Call a branch or use the Book-a-Librarian form online to schedule your session.
Each of these resources reflects our commitment to making the library a place where every member of our community — regardless of age or circumstance — feels welcome, supported, and connected. Shared memories, new skills, good coffee, and a friendly face go a long way.
We invite all seniors to explore what the Clermont County Public Library has to offer.
