Become a Libby App Power User With These Tips

Do you use the Libby app for ebooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines? Take your experience to the next level when you use these Libby app tips.

Libby App Tips


Audiobook Duration

Did you know you can filter audiobooks by duration? This is handy when you have a commute or a specific task to do. You can plan your audiobook to align with it.


  1. To do this, tap the Magnifying Glass at the bottom of your screen.

  2. Tap “Audiobooks”.

  3. Tap the filter symbol to the left of Audiobooks. <insert image>

  4. Scroll to “Audiobook Duration”.

  1. Tap the duration/length of time you’re looking for and find your next great listen.

 

Find the Newest Titles

Did you know you can find the newest ebooks in our Overdrive collection by filtering lists by date added?


  1. To do this, tap the Magnifying Glass at the bottom of your screen.

  2. Tap the filter symbol to the left of Books. <image>

  3. Scroll to “Date Added”.

  1. Tap your timeframe – “last 7 days” to “last 6 months” then start browsing.

 

Find the first book in a series

Want to start at the beginning of a series? Filter your browsing by “first in series”.


  1. To do this, tap the Magnifying Glass at the bottom of your screen.

  2. Tap the filter symbol to the left of Books.

  3. Scroll to Sequence.

  4. Tap “first in series” and start browsing.

You can also find books that aren’t part of a series by tapping “standalone” and browsing.

 

Find Kindle Books

If you’re looking specifically for Kindle books, you can quickly filter out non-Kindle titles.


  1. To do this, tap the Magnifying Glass at the bottom of your screen.

  2. Tap the filter symbol to the left of Books.

  3. Scroll to “Read With…” and tap “Kindle”.

No more accidentally borrowing an epub or PDF only title.

 

Subscribing to a Magazine

Did you know you can read popular magazines in the Libby app? No waitlists. No holds. Instant gratification.


Find magazines by tapping the Magnifying Glass at the bottom of your screen and searching by the magazine's name.


Or tap the Newstand icon at the bottom of your screen and search.

If it's a magazine you regularly read, you can subscribe so you'll be notified when a new issue is available.


When you close a magazine and choose Yes, and notify me for every new issue.


When you're browsing the Newsstand and tap the 3 dots by the title next to the magazine’s title, then Subscribe.
